May 8, 2008, a French delegation of the SFRP went to the invitation of the SERP to Madrid to discuss common thematic. The SEPR Vicepresident, Pio Carmena, welcomed the French SFRP delegation at UNESA for this meeting, of great interest to both societies.

This meeting was an opportunity to Jacques Lochard to explain the French exhibition "Vous avez dit Radioprotection ?”. The exposition which adds the possibility of showing the history of radioactivity to people is very successful in France and will be present in Buenos Aires in autumn during the IRPA meeting. The SEPR is carrying out the translation to Spanish of the texts and the videos, which will be finalized before the summer.

This meeting was also an opportunity to discuss also on exchange of training course information and collaboration in our respective national congress.
The SEPR informed that the final draft of the “Guiding Principles for Radiation Protection Professionals on Stakeholder Engagement” has been finished as a successful outcome of the SRP-SFRP-SEPR initiative that started with the Workshop in Salamanca. The final presentation and discussion will take place during the General Assembly of IRPA 12. This Guiding Principles could be useful as the base for new IRPA Guides. On this point, SFRP will apply these Principles in different professional areas.

It was agreed for everybody that these contacts between our two societies were very convenient for the development of joint initiatives, and that they should continue in the future. Thus it was proposed to hold a next meeting at the end of 2008 (December) in France.
